14th August 2009 - HOME Manager Appointed
The Board of HOME in Queanbeyan is delighted to announce the appointment of Anne Pratt as manager of HOME.
Anne has been a selfless companion to people on the margins for the past 10 years and in 2008 was voted Monaro Woman of the Year.

25th June 2009 - Construction begins!
The official sod turning ceremony had barely ended before the bob cats and bulldozers moved in to
start construction proper on HOME on 25 June 2009.
Construction of HOME’s 20 one bedroom apartments, communal area and offices is being undertaken by PBS Property Group with Coffey Projects serving as the superintendents for the project. All going to plan, construction should be completed within 10 months.

30th March 2009 - HOME in Queanbeyan Awareness to the Business Community and Turning of the Sod
24 June has been earmarked for our first function for 2009. In conjunction with the Business
Enterprise Centre and the Queanbeyan Business Council, HOME will host a Breakfast for the business
community of Queanbeyan at The Q.
It will also be the official launch of construction of the HOME Project with the turning of the sod to be the feature activity of the function.
Former Governor General and Patron of HOME Sir William Deane will attend along with other dignitaries who have been prominent in the support of this wonderful project – a project that will provide 20 apartment style accommodation units to house those who are homeless due to mental illness in the Queanbeyan and surrounding area.

30th March 2009 - Queanbeyan Business Council To Support HOME Breakfast
Chairman of the Queanbeyan Business Council Bill Baker has offered to support the HOME Project
Breakfast with a considerable donation from the organization towards the cost of the function.
This is wonderful contribution by the Queanbeyan Business Council and highlights the concern and support
by the business community of the HOME Project.

New Appointment
The increased workload from the enormous work achieved by the volunteer Board of Management of HOME
in Queanbeyan has resulted in the first appointment of an Executive Officer (albeit as a part time person).
Chairman of Home in Queanbeyan - Tony Carey announced Ron Fowlie to the position at the Annual General Meeting
in December. “Chook” accepted the position and commenced work on 28th December.
He is probably better known within the local community as an Administrator of the Queanbeyan Tigers Football Club. A Founding and Life Member of the Tigers Licensed Club he has held most Executive positions within the organisation both at Football and Licensed Club levels. He brings enthusiasm, a wealth of experience and local knowledge to the Board of Management.

Our Own Anne Pratt Receives Recognition
Board Member Anne Pratt earned the 2008 Monaro Woman of the Year Award by way of her passion and dedication while
working with people with mental illness and the homeless through the St Benedict’s Community Centre and also with
her involvement with HOME in Queanbeyan.
Anne became involved in working with people with a mental illness after a stint at a doctors surgery and also living with her husband who lived with the illness for about 15 years. She was appointed as Coordinator of St Benedict’s Community Centre in Queanbeyan and now provides relational support to people with mental illness, the homeless and people with drug and alcohol issues.

WOW – Trivia Night raises $45,000 for HOME in Queanbeyan
There is nothing better than having a “home” grown product assist the locals in need!!
Melissa Miller presented HOME in Queanbeyan Board Members Father Peter Day and Anne Pratt with a cheque valued at $45,000 from a trivia night organised by Melissa and staff from her company Servcorp and The Donna Group.
The function held at the Realm Hotel in Barton and hosted by television personalities Paul McDermott and The Sandman attracted a vast array of business and community minded people raising close to $100,000 on the night - the majority of which was presented to HOME.
Thanks Melissa for this wonderful contribution of which may go along way to assist the Board complete the HOME in Queanbeyan Project in One Stage.

The Snow Foundation provides generous donation
"The Snow Foundation
has agreed to financially support a local community’s initiative to establish Home in Queanbeyan (Home)...
In its biggest single donation so far, the Foundation will donate $400,000 over the next four years
to help get Home up and running as soon as possible"
Anglican Church says ‘Yes’ to HOME building on its land
HOME in Queanbeyan Inc (HOME)
has taken another major step towards becoming a reality with the local Anglican Church
generously backing a move for HOME to be built on a parcel of land it owns in central Queanbeyan
The Board of Home is pleased to announce the commencement of 'Open House', a mental health information and support program for the whole community.
The Home in Queanbeyan has been granted Deductible Gift Recipient Status from the Australian Tax Office
This means that any donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
